Dusky Lory < Feathered Frenzy

Dusky Lories are hard to find in the pet trade, though they make a flashy outdoor aviary companion. Lories eat liquid diets, which makes their care a bit different from the traditional macaw or cockatoo. Eating a liquid diet causes their stool to be very loose, and those who own parrots can tell you that projectile poo is not fun to clean up - so imagine liquid projectile poo! They can also be quite loud. These birds relish flight time, and it is for these reasons that the dusky lory does best as an outside bird in a flight cage. They can be kept indoors if you have an appropriate bird room or just love to clean a lot.
