The Eleonora Cockatoo is actually a subspecies of the Sulphur-Crested cockatoos. While it generally refers to the Medium Sulphur Crested (Cacatua galerita eleonora), we have found many references to the Greater species as well, thus invoking some confusion among casual bird owners. This bird is white-bodied, with some vibrantly colored yellow feathers in its crest. Cockatoos are extremely intelligent and require a large quantity of attention and stimulation every single day. They are not well known for their talking skills, but many can say a few words. This bird requires a very large, sturdy cage, with a steady supply of chew toys.
