The image is from an original watercolor painting titled "Floyd". Think about the bird's coloring and then think of a rock band and you'll figure out why I came up with the name Floyd! I took the reference photo for the painting at the Sacramento Zoo.

Size: Weighing between 5 - 7 pounds, standing between 30-50" tall
Habitat: Large shallow lakes or lagoons in South America, Africa, India, Europe, and the Bahamas
Why are they pink? These birds eat foods rich in carotenoid pigments, such as algae and brine shrimp
