Goffin's Cockatoos are the smallest of all the cockatoo species, with a total length of about 12". Because of their small size, many bird owners opt for this species instead of a full-sized 'too. Like other 'toos, they are extremely cuddly and adept at getting what they want. Do not be fooled by its size, however: they can scream with the best of them. Cockatoos have special needs that cannot be fulfilled by the average pet owner. They need hours of one-on-one attention outside the cage every day to stay happy and healthy. These types of birds also produce an excessive amount of powder dust, which is normal and healthy for their feathers, but can be harmful to those with allergies or asthma.
