Major Mitchell Cockatoos, or leadbeaters, are beautiful birds with soft pink heads and a bold salmon, yellow, and white crest. These highly prized parrots come from Australia, like the other 'toos, but sadly, their numbers in the wild are steadily declining. Loss of habitat has caused their devastation. They will not tolerate other pairs nesting in the same area, which inevitably occurs when your environment is cut in half. Thus, these spectacular parrots come with a high price tag.
