Living nearly a century, macaws are, themselves, cumbersome in their lifespan. Given a healthy lifestyle, they will outlive their owners, and they will need to be taken care of in a will, be it a loving family member, friend, or compensated animal rescue. Most never make it to that point, developing some erratic behavior such as screaming or mutilation, and are given to a rescue or shelter. Some are abandoned because they are "too much work," they owner decides they "no longer have the time," or "they lost interest."
Our "Macaws are for LIFE" products are intended to make people stop and think. "What's that mean?" "How long do macaws live?" "Wow, really? That's a huge commitment." Because it IS a huge commitment that needs to be thought out carefully, especially considering the extremely long lifespan!
If our shirts stop just a single person from making an impulse buy, we've accomplished what we set out to do.
