Nanday Conures are green birds with black heads and beaks. There is a little bit of red feathering around the legs. To truly appreciate these birds, they must be seen in full sunlight, when their feathers really glisten! The nanday is not a very popular conure compared to some of its flashier cousins like the sun conure, but definitely a parrot worth owning in its own right. Generally, nandays seem to be better talkers than suns, though still possessing a rather limited vocabulary. Some may not talk at all. Their call can be quite loud, and are definitely not recommended for apartment dwellers! This species is very sociable in the wild, and that translates well into a household that has several other birds of the same type or not. Interact daily with this bird to keep it happy!
