Yellow-Naped Amazons are a larger amazon parrot, weighing in at around 500-600 grams. The body and head is green, with the exception of a patch of yellow feathers on the nape of the neck (hence its name), as well as a bit above the beak. The beak itself is dark green, usually with some horn-coloration on the upper mandible. This parrot is a very popular pet, probably due to its excellent talking ability, clownish behavior, and intelligence. However, keep in mind that amazon parrots are very loud, need large cages, a steady supply of chew toys, and often outlive their owners. All these facts should be taken into consideration before purchasing or adopting.
